The Cocoons Network, London EC2A
Overview
EVS supplied and installed a new and fully exposed primary fresh air and exhaust ventilation system for a new office development in Christopher Street London. Providing 15,000 square footage of flexible office space, The Cocoon Networks London Building spans five floors. It was developed to offer all the modern amenities that one would expect of a high-end working environment. The London office building features several open plan spaces for hot desking, as well as private offices, conference rooms, a TV studio, exhibition area and cafe. Furthermore, entertainment facilities are provided and not to mention a 3,000 square foot gymnasium complete with shower rooms, treatment rooms and nutrition bar.
Scope
Initially, EVS were awarded the Cat A fit out for the entire project but as the building was let to new tenants, Cat B fit out’s came into play, which were awarded to us as well. This required multiple teams working concurrently in several areas and floors throughout the building to ensure the construction programme was not affected and key dates were met. EVS were contracted to design, fabricate and install the primary fresh air and exhaust ventilation system, served from 10 air handling units that were located to the east and west side of each of the five levels. Due to space constraints within the designated plant areas, there was a considerable amount of coordination and design work required to facilitate our installation. Further secondary ductwork and grilles were installed to over 140 indoor fan coil units within the open plan areas. Upon installation the ductwork was insulated and finished with paint to match surrounding services.
