Clockwork Building, London, W6
Overview
EVS were commissioned to supply and install an exposed ductwork ventilation system as part of an extensive refurbishment to renovate The Clockwork Building at Ravenscourt Park London W6. The refurbishment of this 1970’s office block was to pay homage to the building’s original design by architect Richard Seifert. It’s minimalist and industrial look was enhanced by the exposed ductwork that spanned the six floor building.
Scope
Fabricated with polished galvanised steel the exposed central ventilation ductwork ran the length of each floor with the supply and extract grilles meticulously spaced to ensure consistent heating and cooling throughout the building. This attention to detail enhanced the overall interior design, yet provided a practical solution to optimising the temperature in a large open plan area. The general supply and extract system was served by a new air handling unit situated at roof level. In addition to the main air handling plant, EVS supplied and installed a separate ventilation system for the washrooms at either end of the building.
